This script generates a regular n-polygon on the selected face. Just type the number of sides you want then click execute.
Please open the perfectPoly.mel file and read the instructions. Put the file in your maya/script file in my documents.
To run the script, type in the script editor.
source perfectPoly.mel;
It is similar to a feature called 'Untangle' in a plug-in called CS polytools for Max. But you have to clean the mesh up yourself. :(
