I can't see any geometry in maya 2012 on OSX. I also get a "error loading file" when I try to open the file in maya 2012 on OSX :( -

Hi I'm trying out your amazing script, It looks excellent so thanks for offering this free. I have a problem though that it crashes Maya every single time when creating the second wing rig. I'm on windows 7 / Maya 2014. I've tried doing the left and right sides first and its the same every time, fatal error, I create the feathers on one side then rig fine, create the feathers for the other side, fine.. but as soon as I click create rig for the second side it crashes....any ideas ? Many thanks -

Thanks Heather - the new script works a treat - on a win7 and mac OS maya box (maya 2014)- but when running your script on a Linux box it crashes maya - this only happens when you generate the second set of wing controls - it work perfectly up until that point - not a big issue for me as I will use your script on a win7 or osX box for the initial set up. Thanks -

@tristratos Ok apparently I -really- suck at figuring out how to respond to comments on here- there's no "reply" button that I can find, so please forgive my flubbing here to try and respond. Thank you for the response, I'm happy to hear there are people who are making good use of my work! I'm especially grateful for the feedback, it's very helpful to hear! 1) I agree, and when I made it I'd forgotten (somehow) the purpose of that file was to learn from. I'd removed the colors thinking it made the scene "cleaner", forgetting that those colors gave it clarity. My mistake! I've changed it and re-added the colors. Thank you for the suggestion and reminder! 2) Those locators served an important purpose- creating different wing shapes or changing the feathers meant the program would generate the controls in bad places- the placement of the controls for a hawk wing are different than that of a falcon, and even more so for a wing a user might create that's very different than either. Having the user define the location of the feathers enabled it to generate controls based on the locators position. However, I -hated- this solution but had tried to find another way for months and failed. Shortly after uploading v2.0 and right before I got your email & comment I ran across a better solution of using the bounding boxes instead. I wanted to hold off on responding to your email until I finished implementing the bounding box solution. I've uploaded the new version and I hope it works better for you that my previous version! It will now use the bounding boxes surrounding key feathers in order to judge where to build the controls instead of using user placed locator positions. These fixes can be found in the updated version on my site and on creative crash. Lastly, I'm sorry to say I've never used ncloth! I've very badly wanted to figure out a way to add dynamics on this so that things like wind blowing could be implemented, but that's out of the scope of my current knowledge. I AM working on it, but unfortunately it may take a long time since I'm working full time and job hunting (my contract with this game company ends in a few months!) I will try my best but no guarantees, especially anytime soon. Thank you for your kind email/comment, I sincerely appreciate the feedback! I hope this update is more to your liking! -
