I want to note that Up Vector fields is very important factor to rigging shock absorber.
Every axis that you want to rotate your absorber on that is your up vector and you should set it to 1 (one).
For example if this absorber in this picture is stright forward (verticaly) you shoul set up vector to : 1.0 0.0 0.0
