Hi Damien, thanks a lot for you info. Would you mind sending me the Maya crash log? It might have something else helpful in there. -John -

Hi Damien. What platform are you running? I just ran it on maya2011-x64 on OS X, and it seemed to work fine. -
Damien Hess said about 14 years ago:
Hmm- haven't tested in OSX. Has never worked for me in Windows. First tried on 2010x86 and now on 2011x64, Win7. At first, I thought it was the problem was that I had the mel in the wrong scripts folder, eg. ~\maya\2011-x64\scripts, instead of ~\maya\scripts. However, have tested either way with the same result. And on different machines with their own install of maya. When I add the command to the userSetup.mel at the bottom of the list, nothing happens. If I add it to the first line, Maya will abort the launch just when it gets to the main window. Curiously, it works fine if I just add the whole script to a shelf button. Click it to add the command to the file menu and then clcik revert to get the result. Let me know if any other info would be helpful. -

Hi Damien. I think I have located the culprit. Apparently it bottoms out when Qt is initializing. I'm taking a look into it as we speak. -
