I see several requests for what would ostensibly be the same thing (take render settings and set file save format). So I tried hacking your code abit to try to hardcode an EXR float 32 write out, but given renderWindowEditors -edit -writeImage limitations , I can't see an easy way to force EXR's instead of tifs.
Even doing a setAttr defaultRenderGlobals.outf 51 doesn't work.
Any pointers?
