Allow me to also give my support for this plug-in. Having a character with a huge number of polygon pieces and needing to activate certain render stats for each piece across multiple renderlayers is tedious to do one piece at a time.
This script saves you hours of work in that regard. Just remember that some of those render stats are global, and not render layer specific.
