Cannot bind because it's sais not in bind pose even tho I have no skin yet and feet controls are not zeroed out.

The error is probably related to some rigging processes which use binding and doesn't refer to the skin binding. Make sure that you build your rig in a scene which has no other objects in it, especially in the scene center and also the scale of your character should be not too small. Ingo

Hi Ingo, Love this quadruped rig, thank you - it's extremely helpful for me - I'm new to quadruped rigging (and fairly new to rigging in general) and have to rig up a few dozen animals for a project I'm contracting on - your auto rig is saving me a LOT of time! Took me a while to work out what's going on (still not 100%) but I can rig and skin well enough to animate the models for the intended purpose. I'm adding to this thread because i have the same question (but not the same problem) in that the foot controllers' translation seems to inherit the world space coords of the child joints, but I'd like the foot controls to be at zero after 'complete rigging' is selected. When I choose to freeze the controls I am unable to because of incoming connections to it. There are so many incoming connections to the controller that I don't really know how to put it back together if i was to disconnect everything. Is there a way I can set the foot controllers' translation attr to zero? Thanks again for this great rig! :)

Hi Ingo, this Rig is really great! Now, I intend to use it for my BA Animation. I'm also quite new to Rigging in general. And I also have the Problem, that the FootControls aren't zeroed out; I don't really know what to do about it. There's also a Problem with the Jointchain of the Hindlegs: when I "Finalize" the Rig, it rotates way out of the Mesh, like you see in the screenshot. Well my Model may be not quite straight, but when placing the Skeleton, I tried to keep the chain straight; nonetheless it jumps when finalizing the rig. I'm not sure, if I'm doing it wrong... Thank you! Lidi

Hi Lidi, in order to fix the non-zero controls issue you need to edit the scripts and rebuild the rig. That is easier than fixing the finalized rig. From the downloaded scripts open the icQRbuildBackLegs.mel and icQRbuildFrontLegs.mel in a text editor and find the line: makeIdentity -t 0 -r 1 -s 1 -a 1 $ctrls[0]; Replace the '0' after '-t' with a 1 (one) so that it says: makeIdentity -t 1 -r 1 -s 1 -a 1 $ctrls[0]; Save the scripts and restart Maya. Now you can rebuild the rig and your controls will be zeroed. About the other problem with the joints sticking out. The joints need to be exactly in line with each other. It's not sufficient if they are almost in line. It needs to be exact. The best way is to place the joints in the side view. Then it should work. Hope that helps. Ingo
