DESCRIPTION

When you Smooth a mesh you may experience, um, shrinkage, due to the Catmul-Clark subdivision. This script creates a "Smooth-compensated" mesh. When smoothed, this mesh will be a truer representation of your original unsmoothed mesh.

One way to use it is to apply it as a blend shape which is always on. Then Smooth before you render.

NOTES:

o This is NOT the same thing as pressing "Cage" in ZBrush.

o Some people model with a Smooth Proxy or SubDiv preview, in which case the mesh is *already* Smooth-compensated. If that is your workflow, you will not need this script.

TO_USE

    o Select a polygon object.
    o Execute 'oaSmoothCompensate'.
