I get this same error in 2014 and 2015 Error: file: /Documents/maya/2015-x64/prefs/scripts/wl_Slap_On_FREE.mel line 21: No object matches name: animation_controls //

This will happen when you have already run the script or part there of.
open up a fresh scene (Slap_On_v2.01.ma) and run the script just to see if it works.
If it is fine, then reopen Slap_On_v2.01.ma and start the procedure again.
