Put the mel script into:
1) C:\Users\Your Computer\Documents\maya\2013-x64\scripts
2) Source Script
3) then type: cf_imageConverter()
if this doesn't work try loading the script then running it after sourcing this worked for me.
to use:
select the folder where your current textures reside using the load folder.
I changed mental ray textures .maps to jpgs
Select your conversion format which for me was jpg rgba
then select your output folder where the new image conversions will be saved ( output folder)
then simply hit Convert !
the new images will be outputted there.
