With this script you can create a wide variety oflightrigs from a GI dome to any kind of softspotrigs to a user defined array of lights based on polygonal vertex selection.The lights get her color information from a ramp or a file texture. Where the lights are placed on the texture, from this point or pixel gets the lights the color.
So it is possible to create an HDRI fake with one simple shadingnetwork. Animated textures or ramps are supported as well.
