Hi I appreciate you sharing this nice script. It is way faster since it's a plugin. However I was not successful in running your script. I followed the instructions and script gave me error on line 394. "mirrorVertex.mel line 394: Converting string "MainChar1" to an int value of 0. // " I have no idea. what's going on here so I could not fix it easily. It would be great if you can fix it. Besides how do you reflect the shapes, does it go left to right or right to left. You should have options for +x or -x. Thanks. -

I've been through all the blendshape mirroring scripts on highend and they all pretty much do the same thing: use a negative scaled wrap deformer to do the mirroring. Sometimes that works, but it's slow and often very inaccurate. If they work at all. However, mirrorVertex isn't one of those hacks. It actually compares vertex position and as a result, it's fast and super acurate. I highly recommend this plugin. The only trouble I've had with it is when the original shape is not exactly at the origin. Thanks for sharing this!!! Thank you for recompiling to maya 2008!
