I love that this works with NURBs curves. I work with PDB files alot (protein database files) and this helps me. I basically create a NURBS curve CV at every point an atom exists. then run the Merge Metaballs command.
The blobby quality of the mesh can be increased or decreased simply by scaling the curve. and I can still model with the curve in component mode.
This script friggen rocks.
