USS Sterett (DDG-104), an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, is the fourth ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of Andrew Sterett, a naval officer who served during the Quasi-War and the Barbary Wars.

this model is made in 3dsMax 9. With its state of art quality it's ready for both high end animation projects and stilled display projects. To guarantee the absolute accuracy and precision we have used CAD program to recreate the 3-view drawing from the actual ship. Texture maps are taken onboard the actual ship as well. All thumbnails are rendered by the .max vray version. High definition previews of the .max scanline version can be found at the downloadable preview section due to the limited space of thumbnail section.

Main products include 2 files:
1. max 9 (with vray setting). This is the original file and requires Vray 1.5 plugin (advanced render engine from Chaos Group). It's used to make all the thumbnails.
2. max 9 (with scanline setting). It utilizes 3dsMax's default render engine and does not require any plug-ins. Due to the limited space of thumbnails we have uploaded free preview renders (4000 X 2500) of the scanline version onto the downloadable preview section.

FAQ:
Q. Why the aft CIWS platform is not there?
A. Since DDG-89, reloading crane inside the VLS was removed, the extra space (4 cells) can be loaded with RAM missiles if necessary, which leads the navy to remove the aft Phalanx platform on later ships.
Q. Why does GTG-3 exhaust look different from older Flight IIA ships?
A. DDG-104 represent a revolutionary new design, numerous changes has been made including GTG-3 exhaust.
Q. Why are SVTT located on the aft missile deck?
A. Older destroyers have SVTT located on the main deck while since DDG-91 the position has been shifted.
Q. Where are the exhaust shrouds for the stacks?
A. Since DDG-89, the exhaust system was refitted to further reduce the heat/infrared signature.
