Close if open and relaunch Maya.
In Script Editor MEL command line type - facer
Press - Return Key
Then finally press Execute ( Blue Arrow / Play icon) in Script Editor and The Facer Window appears.
Works for me ( I am using PC but the same steps for Mac)
